I found an excellent article written by Andrew Potter about high school students starting a smoothie shop.
At-Risk students at an alternative high school are learning how to research a business, write and execute a business plan, serve customers and do some accounting by operating a smoothie shop.
Calling it the Bottoms Up Smoothie Spot, or BUSS, they offer smoothies made from fruit, fruit juice and frozen yogurt. They sell for only $2, include five different flavors, ~ strawberry and banana being the most popular ~ and are apparently quite the popular beverage at the Marshalltown Learning Academy.
And best of all, it’s open to the public!
Try it out and post a comment here about your experience!
Meanwhile, conclusions on the connections between Depression and Bone Mineral Density were reported in Biological Psychiatry, in the journal of Sept 01, 2009.
Their findings portray depression as a significant risk factor for low BMD. Do you know someone who is suffering from depression? Economic times are taking a toll on many of us these days. Slip some Smoothie Essentials Calcium Blend to someone you care about.
